Abstract

3D printing is an additive manufacturing technique with popularity in dental fields for fabricating a wide range of structures and complex geometries. Photosensitive resin-based materials are the most widely used in dental clinics, from manufacturing orthodontic devices to implant surgical guides. Each device for 3D printing carries advantages and disadvantages as well as specific requirements for understanding the printing process.
This article contains an introduction of the vat photopolymerization-based dental 3D printing devices to enhance understanding, thus gaining feasibility of the clinical use.
